Looking Back on 2024 and Unveiling an Exciting 2025
As 2024 draws to a close, there’s much to celebrate at OpenRoad Foundation. This year has been a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and unwavering commitment to social responsibility. From groundbreaking partnerships, to expanding our reach across communities, OpenRoad Foundation has continued to inspire positive change in ways that are both impactful and sustainable.
2024 Highlights:
Expanding Our Community Programs: OpenRoad Foundation is committed to making a positive impact through community programs that support cancer awareness and mental health. Our Associates actively participate in initiatives aimed at raising awareness and funds for cancer support, partnering with organizations such as Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society, as well as programs focused on mental health advocacy and support, demonstrating our dedication to improving the well-being of individuals and communities. This past year, OpenRoad Foundation spearheaded an anti-bullying awareness campaign across our BC and Ontario stores for Pink Shirt Day, encouraging conversations about diversity and inclusiveness, while raising funds for the CKNW Kids Fund.
Empowering environmental stewardship: Our OpenRoad team continues to be dedicated to environmental stewardship, participating in initiatives such as shoreline cleanups with Sea Smart and supporting food waste diversion efforts with Vancouver Food Runners. Additionally, we've enhanced our commitment by adding beehives to our rooftop, fostering local biodiversity and supporting pollinator populations.
Furthering education: OpenRoad Foundation is proud to support education through partnerships with organizations such as Take a Hike Foundation and Thrive Youth Foundation. Through these collaborations, we help empower young people by providing them with valuable resources, mentorship, and opportunities to grow, setting them on a path to success and a brighter future.

25 in 25 Giving Initiative
We also have an exciting announcement. We are launching a brand new grant initiative for 2025 named 25 in 25, in celebration of OpenRoad Group’s 25th anniversary.
To mark this milestone, we will award 25 grants of $25,000 each to Metro Vancouver and Greater Toronto-based non-profits and charities, for a total of $625,000 in funding. Grant applications open on January 1, 2025 and more information is available at openroadfoundation.ca/2025.
