OpenRoad Foundation 2025 Grant Program
To commemorate OpenRoad Group’s 25th Anniversary in 2025, OpenRoad Foundation will contribute $625,000 to 25 non-profit organizations in the Greater Vancouver and Toronto Areas that support the growth of strong, resilient communities.
These donations will focus on making an impact in three key areas: environmental sustainability, education, and community well-being. Charities who fit the selection criteria are encouraged to apply for one of 25 grants, each valued at $25,000.
Submissions are open between January 1-31, 2025.

$25,000 for 25
To qualify as one of the 25 charity partners receiving a $25,000 donation, organizations must be registered charities with the Canada Revenue Agency. Additionally, their mission and programs must align directly with at least one of OpenRoad Foundation’s three giving pillars: environment, education, and community life.

Proposed programs must take place between June 2025 and December 2025.

To be eligible for one of 25 grants, you must meet the following criteria:
Be registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable organization
Your organization and programs must impact the Greater Vancouver region and/or the Greater Toronto region
Your organization’s mission and purpose aligns with at least one of our giving pillars: Environment, Education, and Community
Proposed program and use of funds must benefit one of the communities we support
Demonstrate that the donation would be used for initiatives in 2025 that directly impact our communities
Important Dates
January 1 - 31, 2025:
Letters of Intent submission
March - April 2025:
Shortlisted organizations will be invited to submit an official Grant Application with additional details on their organization and proposed initiatives
Early May 2025:
Selected organizations will be contacted and announced
Method of Selection
Submissions for OpenRoad Foundation grants in 2025 will be reviewed and considered by a Selection Committee composed of representatives from the OpenRoad Foundation Advisory Committee and Board of Directors.
Organizations shortlisted from the submissions are not guaranteed a grant. Shortlisted organizations will be invited to submit an official Grant Applications, which will be further reviewed by the Selection Committee for a final decision.
Notification and Acceptance
Selected organizations will be contacted in early May 2025.
Upon receiving notification of final selection, recipients must sign and return the Gifting Agreement, indicating their acceptance of the terms as a charitable partner of OpenRoad Foundation and their decision to accept the gift.
The gift amount of $25,000 is non-negotiable. Selected organizations are expected to provide reporting on use and impact of funds within 12 months of receiving the funds.
